The “Dance Your Freedom” exhibition is the first dance art exhibition held as part of the Body and Movement programme by the NGO Micro Rainbow in London, celebrating the creativity of LGBTQI refugees and asylum seekers in the programme. The exhibition is curated by the founder and director of Outra Onda Conteúdo, Leonardo Menezes, a participant in the Chevening Clore Fellowship programme, which Leonardo has been running since 2023, in the UK.
“Dance Your Freedom” is part of Pride Month 2024 and through graphic artworks, costumes, dance films, audio works and photographs, visitors will be able to learn the stories of these LGBTQIA refugees, as they rebuild a positive relationship with their bodies and themselves. Visitors are also invited to indulge in movement and dance throughout the exhibition.
